Korean traditional furniture

I went into Osan last week with Rose and made some furniture purchases. I knew exactly what I wanted, found it right away and for the right price, so I was pretty happy! I wasn't actually planning on buying a trunk, but it was too beautiful to pass up.

Step Tansu chest-Ozzy already likes perching on top.

Who knew?

Eddie loves basketball! He's never shown any interest in the t.v., except when there are animal sounds-and then he'll run over and stare at the speakers. But today, I left AFN on in the background (no sound), there was a game on, and the little pooper's eyes were glued to the tv. How funny is that?
Just for fun, here's a bathtime pic. He's such a good boy in the bathtub :).

Traumatic day

Saturday, the most unbelievable thing happened. I was attacked in broad daylight by some maniac, who I assume was trying to take my purse. Strange thing was, I can't remember him even grabbing my purse, or yanking on it even. It happened so fast...One second I was walking with Rose, next thing I knew a pair of arms had wrapped themselves around me and were clutching at me frantically. I held my bag tightly to my chest, leaned forward, was basically tackled to the ground, and then he was off running. I never even saw his face. It was 2 pm, a bright, sunny day about 100 yards from the apartment-two kids were playing on the sidewalk near us, and it was all so surreal.
James left Chris a nifty little beating-stick that I will be carrying around with me now. Not that I plan on walking anywhere alone ever again. In reality, I am perfectly fine- a scratched-up elbow and torn pants is all- but the safe neighborhood seems scary to me now. Of course, as Chris put it-if Koreans weren't such wusses, I'd probably be out $400 dollars, an IPOD, and all my ID's. And maybe worse off than that. But thank God...
I am now officially ready to come home. 40'ish days to go.

And the sun comes out...

After 4 solid days of rain, the downpour stopped a couple hours ago and the sun has emerged! It's so beautiful out-the rain cooled down everything, and its not humid, so it's very pleasant. Of course, for some strange reason, the Koreans still feel it necessary to spray down the roads... Who even knows why they do what they do... I'm just happy it's not all gray and gloomy.
Today was also my last day of work. It was sad, but I'm happy to move on and do something new. I will definitely miss my students. They are good kids...

46 and counting...

With 46 days left in country, now is the time. We're almost outta here, so if you want something Korean, put your orders in now! Pretty soon, I'm going to be buying out Namdaemun and Myeongdong, so tell me now, and I'll save you something :). Ahhh, I can't wait to leave, but I sure will miss earrings for one thou...

Rachel's visit

Rachel came to Seoul to visit for a couple weeks. It was fun-we've really missed her. We took a trip to Lotte World, an amusement park, did a LOT of shopping, and she introduced me to melon bars...yum!
Here's a few pics :).
