Off to Florida!

Friday morning we're off to Florida! Actually, as it turns out, I am off to Florida on one plane, and James and my husband are on a separate plane. Exact same time, same connecting flights, parallel flying in the sky, just different planes. How ridiculous is that! Just my luck... I've still never flown with my husband. I'm planning on getting a wonderful tan in one week, and spending some time relaxing on the sand while Chris works during the morning. My best friend Shy and her husband and two kids (our godchildren) are coming down to visit while we're there, and I can't wait! Then, Easter Sunday I fly into New Orleans to visit the family for a week. It's strange that Emily is the only one of us kids left in town...as you all know Ben is headed overseas. We're leaving Rachel all by herself here! I'm sure she'll stay as busy as she normally is never home anyway. Ozzy will keep her company at least :). Oh, and we got her bed, and she's got it all set up. I'll post a picture of that later on. It'll be quiet on the blog for the next two weeks at least, but hopefully I'll have lots to share when I get back here. I haven't really had to work much this week, so I've been just doing all the laundry and trying to tie up some loose ends so we don't have to worry while we're gone.

Silk is hard to capture on camera...lighting and all that. Posted by Hello

Indian silk

Chris and I found something pretty! An Indian silk bedspread... It's very nice, and I can't wait to put it on the bed. First though, we have to figure out how to keep Ozzy off of it! He's accustomed to sleeping on our bed all day long, but that's going to change. It's just a matter of keeping the door closed. Our door doesn't close well, and if you don't shut it just right Ozzy launches his body at the door and flings it open. It's quite disconcerting at 3 o'clock in the morning to have the door fly open and have a little furry body suddenly jumping on you. But I refuse to let this new spread be covered with cat hair, or worse, get snagged! So we'll just have to figure out how to keep him out...

James, home at last...

James is back from his three month stay in Arizona. We're all pretty happy to have him back, Rachel especially. Four is a better number for mischief in Seoul! I think we might have some planned for this weekend... We'll see...
Well, Rachel won't be playing soccer after all, but to tell you the truth I can't imagine how she would have fit it in with Tae Kwon Do, belly dancing, and school work, of course.
Chris is working nights this week, so he gets to relax and sleep late. That's nice for me, since I'll probably get to spend afternoons with him.
Well, I sure am looking forward to the warmth of Florida beaches. I couldn't be more excited about getting to relax, see Shy and visit home all in the same two weeks! I can't wait...

So much for spring...

Well, it snowed on Wednesday and they cancelled school. Rachel was excited to go back to bed, and I was also pretty relieved because I wasn't quite ready after having my wisdom teeth removed, to be hanging around a bunch a high school kids just yet. I did go back to work on Thursday, and even made it to Tae Kwon Do on Friday (today). So I'm feeling a lot better, even though the right side of my face is still a bit swollen. I had my first normal meal tonight! Chris took me out for Thai food, and I was so happy to eat something besides soup and pudding. It's been pretty darn cold here since it snowed, and we're expecting some more flurries this weekend, so we probably won't be doing much. Except going to Rachel's first soccer game that is... It's tomorrow afternoon, and this is when the coach makes her final decisions about who gets cut, and what positions people will play. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Rachel makes goalie! Other than that, we'll probably enjoy the snow from the warmth of our apartment. I can't wait for Florida and to get a tan! It's been sooooo long.

Ouch!

Monday I had my wisdom teeth removed. It was a rather traumatic experience, because I had been told I would be asleep and when I got there, found out that that was not the case. I was a little shaken up, and it was not exactly pleasant, but thankfully, its over. I took the day off today, and am thinking I might not go in tomorrow either. We'll see...
Rachel decided she hadn't been to the ER in a while, so she made a visit there Monday to get 4 stitches in her finger! She had been helping to decorate for the Miss SAHS pageant, and had a conflict with a rogue pair of scissors. She's pretty certain it won't get in the way of her soccer playing, which is good, as her first game is Wednesday.
Things have been almost springlike here the last couple days, with temperatures getting up to 35! I know that doesn't sound warm to some of you, but it feels pretty good to us.
As some of you may know, Chris and I are heading to Floridy in couple weeks-he's got a business trip, and is taking me with him! I'll spend the first of two weeks with him, and the second at home in Louisiana. I can't wait...
